Pella, Knoxville, PCM, Pleasantville, and Melcher-Dallas wrestlers partake in their biggest event of the season up to this point today: the district meets. The top two finishers in each weight class advance to the Wells Fargo Arena next week for the state meet. Pella High, in Class 3A, must contend with the likes of a stacked district that includes Ankeny Christian and #1 ranked, Southeast Polk. Tristan Clark, Xavier Miller, and Ronnie Marshall will all try to bring a PCM singlet with them to Des Moines at the Fairfield site, which includes Knoxville. Brock Caviness, Jac Agan, and Travis Poffenbarger are amoung the seven Panthers that are vying for a spot at state. Pleasantville is at home, and two wrestlers have a chance to make it to the big stage: Griffen McBride and Joe Kauffman. Several Melcher-Dallas wrestlers who joined with Southeast Warren also made it past the sectional stage and will be trying to qualify individually, after the Warhawks will participate in the state dual meet on Wednesday. All district meets are scheduled to start at noon today.
