A Knoxville man has been charged for attempting to burn down a home with others inside.

First Degree Arson, a Class B felony, and Child Endangerment are the charges facing 34-year-old Nathan Frederick Wright.
According to court documents, Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on 176th Place Saturday night and were told by witnesses they could smell burnt materials throughout the home and that a gas stove in the kitchen was left in the “on” position after Wright was seen leaving the room. Wright reportedly had a verbal altercation with a female and told her to get two children who were in the home out because he was going to burn it down.
Wright is scheduled to appear in Marion County District Court Friday.
