There was flurry of activity this past week in the Iowa House Judiciary Committee.

District 28 Representative Greg Heartsill was placed on a pair of subcommittees, including one that will look into extending the notice a victim would be given to attend a parole hearing for their offender. He says current law states the parole board must give the victim 20 days notice.
Heartsill thinks this should be extended to allow victims more time to get their affairs in order if they want to attend the hearing.
