They’re looking for answers.

Three of Iowa’s federal delegates have joined together to find out why a Community Based Outpatient Clinic for veterans in Knoxville has yet to be awarded.
In a letter obtained by KNIA/KRLS News, Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst along with Congressman Dave Loebsack asked the secretary for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and the administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration to provide a detailed update on the project’s progress. They would also like an outlined reason for the delay.
The VA Medical Center in Knoxville closed in December 2009 and details of the proposed CBOC were expected in late spring 2014. VA Congressional Notifications stated in June of last year that they were waiting to receive revised offers to award an operating lease and updates would be provided as milestones were met.
However, there have been no updates on the CBOC lease and delegates believe more than enough time has been allotted to award the contract to Knoxville.
A response to their letter is requested by Saturday.
