The PCM girls’ basketball team came away with a 62-29 home playoff win on Saturday night against Centerville. The Lady Mustangs were head 26-24, as they struggled from the field and the charity stripe in the first half, but outscored Centerville, 24-1 in the third quarter. The PCM defense was stifling on Saturday night, forcing 53 turnovers and 38 steals. Rachel Freland paced the Lady Mustangs with 23 points. PCM now turns their attention to the regional semifinal on Wednesday night, as PCM will play host to Chariton and head coach Bret Grier says it’s nice to be able to play their first two games in front of their home crowd. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the game can be heard on kniakrls.com.
