The PCM girl’s basketball team looks to take one step closer to the state tournament as they face Chariton in the regional semifinal tonight at home. The Lady Mustangs are coming into tonight’s matchup with a record of 15-7 on the year and look to continue their momentum after a 62-29 quarterfinal win over Centerville on Saturday night. Chariton comes into tonight’s matchup at 5-16 on the year and there coming off of a 44-41 quarterfinal win over Albia. This is the first matchup of the year between the two teams and the first one in over a decade. PCM head coach Bret Grier says his team had better intensity in the second half against Centerville and will have to have that the entire game tonight (actuality). The winner will move on to the regional final on Saturday in Washington. The game can be heard on kniakrls.com with Garrett Knock and Tim Mount on the call. Pre-game coverage will begin at 6:40 p.m. with tip-off at seven.
