It was a big battle of area rivals when Pella Christian and PCM hit the floor in Oskaloosa, but it’s the Eagles boys that will be headed to Substate after their 60-49 win as heard live on KNIA. Pella Christian grabbed a double digit lead three times in the game, but PCM kept battling back. Eagles Senior Jason Holwerda says their offense was flowing when it mattered most, and it was great to see his fellow guards have big shooting nights. PCM Head Coach Fred Lorensen says while he’s disappointed with the team’s season ending, he’s very happy with how his team kept climbing back from big deficits. Levi Jungling led all scorers with 19, including 14 in the second half, and Logan Gilman posted 13 for PCM, with nine coming in the first half. The 15-7 Pella Christian Eagles move on to Substate action Saturday against Des Moines Christian, and PCM’s season ends with a record of 18-5.
