During his presidency, Landon will manage the affairs of the Society and preside at all board of directors and executive committee meetings. He will also represent the American Welding Society at many of its local section meetings, and other technical, national and international meetings
Having been mentored by some of the greatest in the welding industry, Landon’s passion for training new welders and mentoring others will be the main focus of his presidential year. Consistent with Landon’s passion, the Iowa Section of the American Welding Society has launched the David J. Landon Scholarship. The endowment is made possible by the generous donations of the Iowa Section of the American Welding Society, Vermeer Corporation, and the matching gift program of the American Welding Society. The scholarship will enable young welders to develop and refine their skills through education and aid them in their efforts to accomplish extraordinary achievements in the industry.
Currently Landon lives in Pella, Iowa, where he is the manager of welding engineering for Vermeer Corporation
