The Pleasantville girl’s basketball team struggled at home on Tuesday night as they fell to Southeast Warren, 57-41. The Trojans played solid team basketball, but were just overwhelmed with the defensive pressure and transition offense from Southeast Warren. Kennedy Core led the way for Pleasantville with 19 points, playing her final game at home for the Lady Trojans. Head girls’ coach Aaron Fichter was pleased with how certain players stepped up in the absence of Kelsee Van Haalen and how his team battled. The Pleasantville boy’s basketball team came away with a 54-40 home win. The Trojans led 21-17 at the half, but exploded in the third quarter outscoring the Warhawks 22-5. Josh Luna led the way for Pleasantville on senior night with 13 points. Both games were heard on kniakrls.com. The Lady Trojans are back in action on Saturday on the road against Madrid in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs and the boys are on the road on Thursday night for their final regular season game against Colfax-Mingo.
