The Pleasantville boys’ basketball team came away with an upset victory on Tuesday night at home against number six ranked Colo-Nesco, 58-55 in the district semifinal. It was a back-and-forth contest all evening, which saw a ton of lead changes, but the Trojans were able to hang with they Royals the entire game and hit some big shots down the stretch to seal the game. Senior Josh Luna hit a three with just over a minute left in the game to make it 56-55 and sophomore Brady Elder hit two free throws to give the Trojans a three point lead and Colo-Nesco was unable to hit a three at the buzzer to send it to overtime. Elder led the way for the Trojans with 18 points and senior Trevor Zoss added 17. Head coach Tom Wilkins says it’s nice to have experience and players that have played in the district final before to get prepared for tomorrow night. Pleasantville will take on Grand View Christian School in the district final tomorrow night at Ankeny Centennial High School with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
