Snow is expect to cause some travel issues later today, but the storm has shifted east.
According to the National Weather Service, dry air remained in place much later than expected near the Des Moines metro. The heaviest snow has fallen along Highway 30. Three to five inches is still expected to fall in Marion County, with heavier amounts northeast of Lake Red Rock. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for any changes in the forecast.
UPDATE:
The Marion County Road Department says trucks will continue to work on paved roads until approximately 7:30 p.m. this evening. Both trucks and motor graders will begin at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning. Road conditions on paved roads may deteriorate rapidly after 7:30 tonight. Caution is advised.
