The City of Pella is anticipating changes to the scope and timing of the Oskaloosa Street Project.
Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini tells KNIA/KRLS News that due to the Iowa DOT’s extensive review period, the city will not be able to accept bids during the spring letting time frame. He says the council will review the size and overall timeline once they receive all regulatory clearance. Nardini adds that this process is required due to the fact that more than half of the $2.5 million is paid for by federal funds.
Work was expected to begin after Tulip Time, with a phased plan throughout the summer and fall. Currently, the city still plans to reconstruct Oskaloosa Street from Prairie to East 16th. KNIA/KRLS will continue to provide updates as they become official.
