And the walls came tumbling down.

Cushman Excavating began tearing down a Marion County building Monday that was suffering from structural fatigue.
The building, located on 113 & 115 Third Street on the Knoxville Square has been off limits for the better part of two weeks, when a 3 foot high, 6 foot wide hole was discovered at the base of the north wall on March 14th.
Businesses nearby have also been closed because of a fear the building would collapse. With the building now being torn down, those businesses will soon be allowed to reopen and access to Third Street between Main and Robinson Streets will resume.
It’s not known how long it will take to demolish and cleanup the building.
