Five doubles and an early 6 – 2 lead was squandered by the Central baseball team in Tuesday’s action down in Tucson, Arizona, against Marian, 12 – 8. In the first six frames, Central had a quintet of two-baggers, which was half of their ten hits they swatted in that time period. Matt Schissel kept the Sabers in line, allowing two runs on nine hits in those six innings, but the Dutch bullpen coughed up four runs in the seventh and five in the eighth in the loss. Zach Brown went 3-for-4 at the dish with a pair of doubles and an RBI to lead Central’s charge offensively. Central’s record stands at 3 – 3 and they have today off before getting back to it tomorrow against Hamline.
