Following up a third place finish in the Class 2A state boys’ basketball tournament, Pella Christian’s Levi Jungling was selected to the all-state team for his performance. Jungling was ninth in the tourney in total points with 34 and 11th in rebounds with a total of 12. Maybe a bit surprising is that David Kacmarynski did not make it to the all-state team, with a 33-point, 33-rebound turnout in the three games the Eagles played. Tessa Howerzyl for the Eagles’ girls was picked to the second team all-Little Hawkeye Conference squad for her senior-year performance. Missing a few games due to an ankle injury, the senior still led the team in scoring average, putting in over nine points per game, and led the team in assists and was second in steals. Her 9.4 scoring average was in the top 15 in the league. Hannah Beltman and Autumn Vos each received honorable mentions.
