Eight of the 13 girls that played varsity for Knoxville basketball this season have received an award for being South Central Conference all-academic. Taylor Carter, Meredith Cunningham, Carrie Chambers, Sierra Findley, Ashley Hawkshead, Emily Wallace, Shaye Nichols, and Lucy Olson had a combined G-P-A of 3.7. The entire team G-P-A was 3.5 which according to Coach Jim Uitermarkt earns the team a Distinguished in Academic Achievement award from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is proud of the team’s hard word on and especially off the court.
