The Pella High boys’ and girls’ track teams made their 2015 season debuts indoors yesterday in Grinnell. Team scores were not kept, but unofficially, the Lady Dutch won the conference meet, which also included Indianola. Annika Pingel won the 60 meter dash, Kelcey Blommers took first in the 1500 meter run, and the shuttle hurdle, distance medley, and 4 x 400 meter relay teams also all won. For the Little Dutch, Garret Jansen set a new school record in the shot put with a hurl of 51′ 2″. The 4 x 400 meter and distance medley relay teams both crossed the line first, and Chase VanSant won the long jump. Four events also took second place for Pella boys. The Little Dutch are off until Tuesday for the ISU Indoor Meet, and the girls will compete a week from tomorrow at Central College.
