Presentations on how to identify and report severe weather were given during storm spotter training Tuesday.

The training was offered by Marion County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service Des Moines Weather Forecast Office at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum.
KNIA/KRLS News team members are all trained spotters and attended the annual training as a refresher course, in order to bring you the best severe weather coverage possible.
The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team will interrupt regular programming for severe weather events in the Marion County area as they occur at any time of day, year-round. We have backup generators to ensure that we are on the air live in the event of any weather-related emergency.
