Hospitals Together
Pella Regional Health Center and Knoxville Hospital and Clinics have a $51 million dollar impact on the local economy, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association.
Their employees contribute more than $10.9 million in retail sales and about $650,000 in sales tax in the county. The study examined the jobs, income, retail sales and sales tax produced by hospitals and the rest of the state’s health care sector. It was compiled from hospital-submitted data on the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals.
