WatchVSWarning

The National Weather Service would like to remind the public about the types of advisories it issues as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
According to Meteorologist Roger Podrazik, there are three primary elements they prepare for: tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and flash floods. He says they will issue a watch four to eight hours before severe weather is expected, and a warning when there is immediate danger in an area. The outdoor warning systems in Marion County will be tested at 10:15 a.m. today. We have more details about storm watches and warnings on Let’s Talk Pella.
