Statistics from the Iowa Cancer Registry show the older population of Marion County is more likely to be diagnosed with colon cancer, according to Iowa Department of Public Health’s Jeanna Jones.

Jones says more people between the ages of 75 and 84 have been diagnosed with colon cancer in Marion County than any other age group.
Jones adds while all age groups should be screened for the disease, there should be a stronger focus on that age group. You can hear more about colon cancer statistics in Marion County on Let’s Talk Knoxville.
