The Pella City Council approved the city’s annual budget at their meeting this week.
The fiscal year 2015-16 total will come in at just over $43.4 million. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the city plans to maintain the same levy rate they’ve maintained for 14 consecutive years at $10.20 per $1000. He says this year’s budget has a heavy focus on infrastructure improvements. The city plans to reconstruct Oskaloosa and Jefferson streets, build the first phase of the city’s long term water improvement plan, and complete electric underground conversion along Washington Street in the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on July 1st.
