A sentencing date has been set for a Pella man who possessed a large quantity of a chemical commonly used in making meth.
Forty-five year old Timothy Joe Gates will be sentenced on April 24th. He was arrested by Pella Police on a Marion County warrant in January. According to court documents, Gates was identified by an informant, who told officers that Gates had purchased and provided pseudoephedrine to manufacture meth. According to police, Gates was seen on video purchasing the over-the-counter drug, and then getting into a car with the informant after each visit. He changed his plea to guilty last Friday after pleading not guilty earlier in the month. He faces a charge of a controlled substance violation, a class B felony.
