Some smoldering rolls of toilet paper were the source of a smoke call to a Knoxville home Tuesday morning.

Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell says they responded to what was originally a residential structure fire call at around 6:45am when the occupant of 1206 Roche Street called saying that smoke was filling the upstairs portion of her home.
The home was evacuated and after crews shut off the power to the home, a sweep discovered toilet paper in a holder was smoldering. The toilet paper was brought outside and quickly extinguished.
No injuries were reported. What caused the toilet paper to smolder was unknown.
Mitchell says it’s certainly good that occupant called right away to have fire crews investigate the scene.
Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Police Department, Alliant Energy, and MidAmerican Energy all responded to the call.
