A world-famous wind ensemble conductor and educator is taking part in a week-long residency at Central College.
Dr. Frank Battisti is working with Central’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble and holding question-and-answer sessions with area students. Director of Bands at Central Mitch Lutch says Battisti is the world’s foremost authority on the development and growth of wind band music and education. Battisti will conduct a collaborative concert with Central College and Central Iowa Wind Ensembles on today at 4 p.m. in the Douwstra Auditorium, which is free and open to the public.
