OFFICE & TRAFFIC MANAGER

KNIA/KRLS Radio has an opening for an Office and Traffic Manager.  This is a 40 hour per week, Monday through Friday position with competitive hourly wage, health and matching retirement benefits available.  The ideal candidate must have a professional appearance and good phone skills, be very punctual and be able to multi task.  Applicants must have strong working computer knowledge,  must have working experienced with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and  Professional Computer training would be preferred.  This position is fast paced and requires deadlines to be met daily.  If you’re Goal oriented, Disciplined and have a proven good work ethic, meet these other skills, bring the proper professional attitude and would like to be considered for this position, please send your resume to:

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Due to a family medical emergency, we have an opening for an experienced Program Director.

We are searching for a current PD or Assistant PD who have talents and leadership skills to lead our talented staff. 

You got in to the radio business, because you liked the business.  Let your passion flow and join our team of small market, full service stations that understand the need for quality employees.  We are located in South Central Iowa and we still care about people and understand that its people that makes this business grow and thrive.  We are small market specialists that believe small markets can compete with major markets and we do it everyday, but we do it by working with good people, not at the expense of people!

We believe in serving the communities in which we live and broadcast…we are locally owned and operated.  We are also looking to expand to other markets, not sell out to the huge cluster stations.  When you work for our company, there is no need to wonder or worry who you owner will be from month to month.

The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section

73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the

Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): [KNIA 1320 AM & KRLS 92.1 FM

Knoxville and Pella Iowa and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these

stations, and posted on their websites, if they have websites.

 

The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning

October 1, 2006 to and including September 30, 2007 (the “Applicable Period”).

 

The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:

1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment

Unit during the Applicable Period;

2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if

applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the

new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact

person and telephone number;

3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the

Applicable Period;

4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the

Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source

utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(2) of

the FCC rules.

Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the

required information. Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under the column

entitled “Full-time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized” refer to the number of the

full-time job positions listed on Appendix 1.

 

For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed “filled” not when the offer was

extended but when the hiree accepted the job offer. A person was deemed “interviewed”

whether he or she was interviewed in person and/or over the telephone.

  • September 2006…No activities
  • October 2006…Participated in a job Fair at Central College in Pella , Iowa .  We discussed broadcasting options and career opportunities with college Seniors.  Pat Joachim Kitman was the Central College Staff person in charge of the Job Fair.
  • November 2006 Participated in a Career Day at Knoxville High School .  Jim Butler and John McGee participated by visiting with classes of Sophamores and Juniors, discussing opportunities in broadcasting and advertising sales.  We also discuss educational needs for broadcasting and some available scholarships.
  • November 2006 participated in a Mock interview session at Knoxville High School .  This program was an opportunity to have students participate in a real interview session so they could prepare for interviews.  We also discussed opportunities for broadcasting careers and even part time broadcasting positions.
  • December 2006  Boy scout tour at the Pella Studio hosted by  Dean Johnson.
  • January 2007  No activities participated in this month.
  • February 2007  We mailed out letters and applications to all Marion County Schools for the KNIA/KRLS Business and Broadcasting Scholarships we will award in may 2007.  We also aired commercials pertaining to the Iowa Broadcasters Scholarship and passed out IBA Scholarship applications to all part time announcers.
  • March & April 2007 No activities participated in this month.
  • May 2007 Awarded 2 business and Broadcasting Scholarships to 2 Marion County High School Seniors.  Those Seniors were Chelsea Kastner of Knoxville and Kirsten Monsma from Pella Christian High School in Pella .
  • June, July, August & September 2007 No activities participated in this month.
