The son of a legendary high school football coach is sharing the story of his father’s legacy and the lessons he’s learned in becoming a leader as part of a community reading experience.

Aaron Thomas is coming to Central College tonight at 7 p.m. in the Kuyper Fieldhouse to speak about his dad, Ed, the former Aplington-Parkersburg Coach who led his community through recovery from a devastating EF5 tornado in 2008, and was murdered just over a year later. Thomas says his father had many connections in Pella, including those at Central, and that he has fond memories of the community.

Thomas was invited to Pella by the Pella Wellness Consortium as part of their Community Common Reading Experience of “The Sacred Acre.”
