Valentines’ Day may be over, but now is still a good time to be thinking about hearts. February is American Heart Month, and Dr. Doug Kanis, Medical Director of Cardiac Services at Pella Regional Health Center, says the month serves as a good time to remind people to meet with their physician and have their heart disease risk analyzed. Kanis says you can also be proactive in your approach to heart health by eating healthy fruits and vegetables and low-fat foods, and engaging in regular exercise.
