The downtown area of Melcher-Dallas continues to rebuild from the fire which damaged or destroyed a number of buildings; and one business marked the occasion with an open house for its customers.
The Iowa State Savings Bank branch office was rebuilt following the fire in July of 2017; although the original building was still standing after the fire, it was damaged badly enough that it had to be torn down and rebuilt.
The end result is a newer and better facility; branch manager Corina Ernst tells KNIA/KRLS News customers have been complimenting them on how the new and improved bank looks.
“They’re just glad that we’re here in Melcher, they’re glad for our new services that we supply as far as the drive-up, the 24-hour ATM,” Ernst says. “We did not have those services before, so now we were able to offer that to our community.”
The interior is also improved, with new decor and pictures depicting Melcher-Dallas history adorning the walls.
