Next week is “Banned Books Week,” and the Pella Public Library is ready to share their collection of sometimes censored literature with the community. Chris Brown with the library says that people often think of the week as a celebration of banning books, when in fact, it’s the exact opposite. Brown adds that the idea that books such as To Kill A Mockingbird, while read by most high school students, are simply not available in all areas, is sad. The library will have a list of books that have been banned, that Brown says would shock most literary fans.
