Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey is coming to Pella next month. Northey will be talking with farmers about Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy. Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and the Iowa State University are working with groups from 11 other states along the Mississippi river on this strategy, which aims to reduce nutrient runoff into the Mississippi, and eventually the Gulf of Mexico. Northey will give his presentation at a dinner on February 25th. Reservations to the dinner can be made by calling Van Gorp Insurors at 628-4100.
