Marion County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Bigaouette has retired from his position. At a reception held Monday afternoon, Bigaouette shared parting thoughts with fellow officers, and praised the efforts of everyone involved.

“Marion County has some outstanding law enforcement, and that’s not something to say on a farewell day, that is very true. I think I’ve trained just about everyone in law enforcement in this room. I always joke that a good deputy never gets cold, wet or hungry. That is true, but an exceptional deputy does, and every sheriff’s deputy in Marion County has always gone above and beyond. They have morals and ethics, and they do the work until the work is done. Thank you for always backing me up, and it’s been a pleasure to work side by side with you.”

The private reception was held Monday at the National Guard Armory in Knoxville.
