People in Pella have been playing in the dirt this week… That’s because it’s open season on tulips that were planted in city-owned beds. On Monday and Tuesday, the pickings were only open to those living in the Pella School District, but starting at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, the tulips that are left are open to anyone. Those who dig up the bulbs must remove all foilage and not spill soil outside of the flower beds. Only tulips planted in specified “street beds” and city parks are available for removal. For a listing of where those beds are, visit www.CityofPella.com.
