Central Grinds Out Softball Sweep of Dubuque; Loses Starting Catcher to Injury

After cruising to an 8-0, six-inning win in the opener, the Central College softball team combined two big hits, aggressive baserunning and a squeeze bunt for a 3-2 walk-off victory to complete a sweep of the University of Dubuque Monday.

Rain Postpones Central Softball Until Today

Saturday morning’s showers and a threat for afternoon thunderstorms postponed Central College’s Iowa Conference softball doubleheader with the University of Dubuque. The Dutch will now face the Spartans this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex field.

Central Softball Extends Win Streak to Four, Sweeps Washington

After pounding out 21 hits in a surprising sweep at No. 3 Coe College Wednesday, No. 8 Central Colllege had to rely on their more familiar strengths of pitching and defense to stymie Washington; picking up a significant sweept of the Bears; 3-0 and 4-1 Thursday in the home-opener for the Dutch softball team.

Redemption! Central Softball Sweeps No. 3 Coe

After seeing a pair of sixth-inning leads slip away against No. 5 Luther College Saturday, the No. 8 Central College softball team rebounded in a big way by taking early leads and never taking the foot off the gas in knocking off No. 3 Coe College 9-6 and 5-2 Wednesday night.
