The annual Coaches vs. Cancer game at Knoxville High School normally matches the Panthers against Chariton; and since that’s the case again this year, the school is doing more to involve Chariton in the event.

Saturday night’s events normally involve paying tribute to persons who are currently fighting against cancer; up until now, this has involved mainly people from the Knoxville area…but this year for the first time, a cancer survivor from Chariton has been invited to take part.

Robin Roush of Knoxville will be joined by Lisa Wood of Chariton; they will be recognized during the cancer survivors ceremony in between the girls and boys varsity games.

Chariton’s involvement is also noted on the official T-shirt for this year’s game; for the first time, the Chargers’ logo is included alongside the one for the Panthers.
