Team U-S-A Softball captured its sixth World Cup of Softball championship this week with a 3-0 win over Australia. Pleasantville Native Chelsea Thomas had a hand in four of the six games that the Americans won. She was the winning pitcher in victories over Puerto Rico, The Netherlands, and Brazil and got the save in a win over Australia on June 29th. For the tournament, Thomas was 3-0 with a team leading zero E-R-A. She pitched 13 complete innings allowing only five hits, walking one, and striking out 21 batters with teams batting just 114 against her. The busy schedule continues for Thomas and Team U-S-A as they are staring play at the Canadian Open Fast Pitch Championships in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada today.
