Great Postseason Run for Pella Christian Girls Ends with State Runner-Up Finish to Western

A 12-point first quarter deficit left the Pella Christian girls basketball team in a hole they could never fully dig themselves out of, as the Lady Eagles’ great postseason run ended at the hands of Western Christian in a 67-57 loss Friday night in the Class 2A State Championship game.

Moving On! PC Girls Defeat IKM-Manning 60-49 to Advance to Championship for First Time

With most of the members of last year’s State Tournament-qualifying team back from a season ago, the expectations were high in the 2011-12 season for the Pella Christian girls basketball team. After a long and challenging journey, the Lady Eagles again find themselves among the eight-team field at Wells Fargo Arena, with their State Tournament run starting this Tuesday morning. Following Pella Christian’s win over Monticello on Monday night, KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall talked with all seven seniors on this year’s squad about what makes this season different, what they’ve enjoyed the most about the ride so far, and why they think they’ve got what it takes to make a splash in “the Well”.
