Class three-A District Eight was much better than what people gave the district credit for last season. According to Knoxville Football Coach Troy Rider, it should be even better this season. The district’s four teams all tied with five-and-two records with Carlisle getting nod at district champion. Rider believes his team will be better…but the rest of the district is going to be improved as well. The Panthers start off the season with five teams that made the postseason last year P-C-M, Pella, A-D-M, Norwalk, and Carlisle. Rider adds if they can get through that stretch relatively unscathed…a postseason appearance should be for the taking. Fans can get a preview of the Panthers tonight with their annual scrimmage and fall sports introductions at Ken Locke Stadium tonight. The fall sports introduction will be at 6:30…with the scrimmage set to start at 7:00. Admission is a bottle of any kind of sports drink.
