Two resolutions authorizing the execution of collective bargaining agreements were approved at Tuesday night’s Pella City Council meeting. Two-year union contracts for both the Pella Public Works Department and Pella Electric Power Utility were accepted, with a zero percent increase in wages for the Fiscal Year beginning on July 1st of this year, and a two percent increase in the following fiscal year.

In other business, the council accepted the second phase of the design analysis for improvements to Pella’s water source and treatment system with the Howard R. Green Engineering Firm. The total expense for the second phase is not to exceed $55,000 and will begin the process of assembling a final report to submit to the City of Pella with plans for an additional Jordan Well water source and reverse osmosis treatment system.
