It was a chance to run through fire scenarios in a controlled environment.

Firefighters from Knoxville Fire & Rescue, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, and Pleasantville Fire Department conducted a training exercise Saturday in Knoxville. The event involved the controlled burn of a house, located at 606 Robinson Street.

Crews had been practicing in the home since they obtained it last month, according to Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell.

The house was set ablaze and extinguished several times before it was lit one final time and burned to the ground.
