Voith Hydro, a Delaware based company,  has received a contract to supply the Red Rock Dam with generators and turbines for their upcoming hydroelectric project.

Construction at Red Rock Dam

The U.S. Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock is doing construction work near their maintenance building. Park Ranger Junifer Kruse says they need more space, so they are adding a building to the facility.

Lake Red Rock Draw Down

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will draw down the reservoir at Lake Red Rock 10 feet this fall. The plan is to expose the tainter gate bays which serve as the emergency spillway. The draw down will take place sometime after Labor Day and will reach its target height by September 30th. The lake will still be open to the public, however, some of the areas will be inaccessible and collection of historic artifacts is not permitted. Exploratory Drilling Conducted at Red Rock Dam

Workers contracted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock recently conducted exploratory drilling at the base of the north end of the Lake Red Rock dam.
