Domestic abuse assault charges and a violation of parole has led to a Pleasantville man being sentenced to 35 years in prison Thursday.

39-year-old Jesse Greenlee was charged with domestic abuse assault 2nd offense and false imprisonment in early January for headbutting a woman and disconnecting her car battery. Greenlee was out on parole at the time of the incident from prior drug arrests, and had previously violated parole.

A victim witness statement during the sentencing hearing had the victim of the domestic abuse tell the court, “you consciously made those decisions to hurt me when no one was around” and “you are a habitual offender when it comes to domestic violence.”

Greenlee was sentenced to two years for the domestic abuse assault 2nd offense and one year for false imprisonment and run consecutively with the full sentence of his parole violation to make 35 years in prison, along with undergoing the Iowa domestic abuse program, a no-contact order with the victim, and paying restitution.
