The Knoxville City Council met in special session Wednesday.

The council held a vote for the second time in three days to approve the appointment of Dylan Morse as a new city council member. The special session was held after a vote at Monday’s regular session failed as Council member James Lane was unable to be reached via phone and Council Member Rick Kingery voted no. Council Member Kingery’s vote did not change during Wednesday’s special session but with Council member Lane being able to cast his vote today via phone, Morse was approved by a 3-1 vote. Following the vote, Morse was sworn in by Mayor Brian Hatch and took his seat on the council. Morse tells KNIA/KRLS News he is excited and is looking forward to getting to work and making decisions that will help the community of Knoxville move forward. Council member Morse will now serve out the rest of the term vacated by former Council Member Craig Kelley with his position being up for reelection in November.
