A Pella dentistry is providing a day of free dental care Friday for Marion County children who are uninsured or only covered by Medicaid. Pella Family Dentistry is taking part in “Give Kids a Smile”, which has been organized by the I-Smile program and Marion County Public Health.

Katie McBurney, I-Smile Coordinator with Marion County Public Health said that Pella Family Dentistry contacted them about doing a special event to help families during difficult economic times and also to help children meet the screening requirements put in place by Iowa schools.

All appointments have been previously scheduled, but those who would like to learn more about the I-Smile program or the new Hawk-I option for dental insurance only can stop by Pella Family Dentistry at 2300 Washington Street in Pella from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

KNIA/KRLS is also broadcasting live from the “Give Kids a Smile” event, with Jamie Brockman providing live updates and interviews from the Little Big Red Radio from 8:00 until 10:00 a.m.
