Knowing they had a big mountain to climb in their first postseason game last Wednesday against Murray, the Twin Cedars Sabers’ were still looking to come away with a victory, regardless of how high that mountain hike ended up being. The Sabers did lose the game 62 – 19, and now have the focused turned to the 2013 season. Twin Cedars head football coach, Aaron Allspach, said that his team would have liked to win the first playoff game, even if it was against Murray, and it all comes down to finishing higher in their region so they can have a more favorable matchup in round one of the state playoff tournament. Twin Cedars went 4 – 3 in Eight-man District 5 play this year, and a victory over Wayne could have given them the number three seed out of their district instead of the number four. The Wednesday loss ended the Sabers’ season with a 5 – 5 record.
