A hail meeting will be held this morning following the severe storms of Thursday evening that damaged many southern Marion County crops.

Dale Miller, with Marion County Extension, tells KNIA/KRLS the meeting will provide information to help farmers assess the extent of the hail damage. The meeting will be at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Fertilizer and Grain, and will be led by ISU Extension and Outreach Field Agronomist Rebecca Vittetoe. She will discuss how to evaluate plants for survivorship, what options are available, and how to look at the current crop situation. There is no cost to attend the meeting. Smith Fertilizer and Grain is located at 1650 Quebec St, on Highway 5, north of Attica. For more information contact Vittetoe at rka8@iastate.edu or 712-540-3319.
