On Monday Central College is hosting a speaker being presented by Helping Hands for Haiti. Silentor Esthil-Henderson was originally born in Haiti, but was adopted after his mother gave him up so that he could receive life saving medical treatment. He was adopted by a family here in Iowa, graduated from ISU, and now is leading multiple efforts to help children from his home country. Currently he is leading the Helping Hands, “180 for Haiti” campaign to build a school. Esthil-Henderson will be speaking at Central College on Monday about humanitarian work in Haiti. the event will be in the Ghram Conference Center at 7:00 PM, the event is free to attend.
