November is National Hospice Month.

Mary Jo McClain, a social worker with HCI Hospice Care Services tells KNIA/KRLS News hospice affects all of us eventually, whether we, a friend or family member enters hospice for end of life care. McClain says comfort and fulfilling our last wishes are important to hospice care professionals. Terminally ill people with as much six months of expected time to live use hospice services. McClain feels that with proper understanding and education on the process of dying no one needs to be uncertain or afraid. Hospice is a choice made by the dying and while some options may be restricted by financial and insurance concerns with some agencies, HCI Hospice Care Services never denies end of life care to any who needs it.
