A growing hotel company hopes to have a hotel built in Knoxville this year. Cobblestone Hotel Group has plans to build a $2.6 million hotel in the area west of the Fareway store. Cobblestone VP of Development Jeremy Griesbach tells KNIA/KRLS News that the plans include a 36-room facility with some meeting space and an indoor pool. Griesbach says that Cobblestone is a company that focuses on quality lodging in small-town America. They currently have eight hotels in Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, and North Dakota, with four more presently under construction. Griesbach says they are looking at around 30 additional sites.

Griesbach says they look forward to partnering with the citizens of Knoxville. He comments that right now they are waiting for the Knoxville City Council to approve a tax increment finance agreement, which is set on the January 16th Council agenda. They are also trying to secure some local investors. Cobblestone Hotel Group is located out of Neehah, Wisconsin, which is just south of Appleton.
