The Instructional Support Levy on the ballot for the 2023 city school election for the Knoxville Community School District has been voted to be renewed.

The levy just nearly passed with 54%, but will now be extended for another ten years, starting in 2025, when the current levy expires at the end of 2024. The Instructional Support Levy program provides districts the opportunity to increase district general fund dollars by allowing the district to obtain an additional 10% of their regular program dollars upon board or voter approval. Boards may approve the program up to five years and voters may approve the program for up to ten years. Funding from the ISL is used for instructional materials to be used within the school district.

According to Knoxville Community School District Business Manager Craig Mobley, KCSD is estimating $868,000 from the ISL for the current school year.
